Quenched and tempered steel

Quenched and tempered steel proves itself under high and dynamic stresses. The most common applications include crankshafts or other shafts and other areas where high forces prevail: from highly dynamic connecting rods and axles to robust screws.

Rolled and bright tempered steel is widely used in general mechanical and plant engineering as well as in the automotive and aerospace industries. Bright tempered steel is available with machined surfaces and close tolerances. The right material for demanding technical requirements, for example for high-precision fits at heavily stressed bearing points. There is no need for additional processing. The bright steel look is particularly effective with visible components.

In addition to a medium carbon content, other elements such as chromium or nickel can be alloyed. Such steels are suitable for subsequent hardening and tempering.
