Aluminium copper alloy in pressed or drawn version, according to DIN EN 515 / 573 / 754. Different heat treatment conditions like T6 or T6511 are available.
Typical applications for this material are turned parts produced in automatic machines due to the short chip break, which is also achieved by the addition of lead. Material EN AW 2011 exhibits comparatively high strength values. Due to the copper content, welding is not recommended as there is a risk of hot cracking. Contact with food should be avoided due to insufficient corrosion resistance. Common weather influences or seawater also quickly lead to impairments.
