Plastic mould steel with controlled sulphur margin.
Often used in mould making for body parts or injection moulds. Due to its controlled sulphur range, this tool steel can be machined very well, but it is only suitable to a very limited extent for applications in which polishing, hard chrome plating or, in some cases, other surface coatings are required; graining should not be considered. Material 1.2738 is more suitable for this. The commercially available versions are annealed (+A) and pre-quenched and tempered (+QT).
