Stainless bar steel in rolled, forged or bright version, solution annealed and quenched (+AT) according to DIN EN 10088, DIN EN 10222 and DIN EN 10272.
Material 1.4462 is one of the austenitic-ferritic duplex steels. It has very good corrosion resistance, with simultaneously high mechanical characteristic values for strength and yield strength. Its austenitic-ferritic structure also makes it possible to use it at low temperatures. With a PREN number typically above 32, material 1.4462 is seawater resistant, but this should be ordered separately if required.
Typical applications are in the offshore industry, in shipbuilding, in the chemical and petrochemical industry as well as in apparatus engineering and the food industry.
The solution annealed and quenched version ensures homogeneous properties defined in the relevant DIN standards.
