Stainless bar steel in rolled, forged or bright version, solution annealed and quenched (+AT) according to DIN EN 10088.
Material 1.4305 is one of the austenitic corrosion-resistant chromium-nickel steels (V2A) and is the material comparable to 1.4301 only with a regulated sulphur content. This achieves better machinability, although the high corrosion resistance is somewhat reduced. As a result, material 1.4305 is used, for example, in the food industry, chemical industry or in mechanical engineering wherever high machining performance is required and the demands on corrosion resistance are not quite so high. The polishability of 1.4305 is limited due to the sulphur inclusions. Use at very low and also high temperatures is possible. Tempering or hardening of this comparatively soft material cannot take place because the austenitic structure of this material is maintained over all temperature ranges and no transformation takes place.
The solution annealed and quenched version ensures homogeneous properties defined in the relevant DIN standard.
