Stainless bar steel in rolled, forged or bright version, such as in different pipe conditions according to DIN EN 10088, DIN EN 10222, DIN EN 10272, DIN EN 10357, DIN EN 10296 und DIN EN 10217.
Material 1.4301 is one of the austenitic corrosion-resistant chromium-nickel steels (V2A). High corrosion resistance makes it possible to use it in contact with media such as food acids, water or steam, without the presence of significant amounts of chlorine or salt. Typical applications include containers and apparatus in the food industry, as well as cutlery, but also decorative cladding due to the polishability of 1.4301. Use at very low and also high temperatures is possible. Tempering or hardening of this comparatively soft material cannot take place because the austenitic structure of this material is maintained over all temperature ranges and no transformation takes place.
The solution annealed and quenched version ensures homogeneous properties defined in the relevant DIN standards. Double certification with the comparable material 1.4307 often takes place.
